Thank you to Arizona Highways for creating this amazing segment revealing the intricate steps involved in the bronze casting process.

Bronzesmith owner Ed Reilly gives a fascinating talk & tour of the intricate, labor-intensive, 8-12-week casting process, including a molten bronze pour.

The program centers on the months-long, step-by-step enlargement of sculptor George Phippen’s tabletop bronze “Cowboy in a Storm” to a 14.5-foot monument size bronze, including the sophisticated internal engineering required to support it during modeling, welding & chasing on the Bronzesmith foundry floor; & the intricate, skilled tasks performed by each member of the Bronzesmith team of artisans.

This eye-popping piece is now installed in the roundabout in front of the Phippen Museum (Prescott, AZ).
