Gessner, Deb

Deb Gessner’s bronze sculptures are wrestled from emotions and experiences and are given form through metaphor and expressionism. Her early art career was a swift rise to success with her sculptures of horses and Native Americans. Though sculpting a traditional subject, her pieces were more representative of the intangible things….air, thought, feeling, regret, longing, power.

After an early start with pencil and pen and ink drawings, Deb discovered sculpting when she was 22. Soon she was showing in galleries in Scottsdale, Santa Fe, Houston and Jackson Hole. Her pieces were in art collections internationally.​​

In 1985 Deb was commissioned to sculpt “The Irrigators” for the city of Glendale in Arizona. The piece was erected in front of the new Glendale Public Library and is still a favorite with the public today.

In 2014 Deb also sculpted Bob Boze Bell’s “Not -So-Gentle Tamer”, the 12 foot Arizona Centennial monument, that is located In Prescott Valley AZ.

Today, Deb is exploring her early love of horses once more, particularly the Baroque breeds. She has been commissioned to do portrait pieces—of horses and people—and is currently working on more Public Art.
