Walker, Jack
Sculpting the West…One Bronze at a Time
Having lived the life of the American Cowboy, Jack Walker has forged his talent on the anvil of experience. The many years of working with cattle and horses bring depth, dimension and authenticity to his work and he is known for his accurate and detailed western bronzes.
Jack’s life was redefined in 1999 while working on a remote cattle ranch in South Eastern New Mexico. It was there that a friend gave him a ten pound block of clay and Jack soon discovered a latent talent for sculpting life like images of cowboys, horses and cattle. Upon seeing his newly exposed ability, Jack’s wife Fran convinced him to trade his “cowboy” lifestyle for the less physically demanding life of an “artist”. After much contemplation Jack and Fran divested their interests in New Mexico and moved to Scottsdale Arizona where Jack immediately started working onsite in a gallery on Main Street. Through his personal interaction with the gallery guests jack began to build an impressive client base and a reputation as a collectable western artist.
Jack’s work has been represented in Scottsdale and Sedona art galleries and he has juried in and won awards at many of the most prestigious fine art shows. Jack has also been featured in national publications including Southwest Art, Horses in the Heart, The Judges Choice and Western Horseman magazines.
Jack and Fran now live in Clifton Texas, where you can find him sculpting, playing his guitar or regaling guests with stories of his life as a cowboy.
